TeleMD LAW’s founder, attorney Kalina Pagano, is an experienced corporate regulatory compliance and healthcare legal counsel. Kalina earned her Juris Doctor degree in the civil legal system based on the Roman Code from Sofia University Kliment Ohridski Law School in Sofia, Bulgaria and is licensed by the Supreme Court of Bulgaria. She earned her Juris Doctor degree in the USA (the common legal system) from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida and has been a licensed attorney by The Supreme Court of Florida and practicing since 1997. 

 

Kalina started her legal career in the United States as a General Counsel to several large medical groups in Florida where she handled all aspects of the healthcare industry including compliance, hospital privileges, physicians associations, reimbursements, compensation, physician agreements, insurance agreements with major insurance providers like Humana, BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna, and regulatory compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, federal anti-kickback, self-referral and anti-trust laws. She went on to build her career as a General Counsel for other privately and publicly held companies expanding her practice areas to FDA and FTC regulatory compliance regarding food, beverages, dietary supplements, drugs, cosmetics; commercial real estate acquisition, financing and development; intellectual property, complex domestic commercial agreements, corporate formations, market expansion, labor and employment, as well as risk and contract management. She is a published author on labor and employment, foreign entity formations and foreign investments in the European Union. 

 

Kalina is a proud mother of two daughters and in her leisure time, she enjoys nature, skiing, tennis, hiking, dancing, interior design, fashion and music.
